Historical photographs, multi-layered information and explanatory texts in German and English provide a lively picture of the conference events from 17 July to 2 August 1945, almost 75 years later. The exhibition which will last to the end of March 2020 also illuminates the historical context of Hitler’s rise to power, the devastating events of the war and the end of the war in the Pacific – as being here in Potsdam Truman gave the green light for the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
